K-2 BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT

Calm Classrooms in 5.5 Hours
K-2 classrooms exhibit a unique set of behaviors not seen in older grades. Some kids are still adjusting to being separated from their families during the school day. Your classroom may be their first exposure to structure and routine. Big feelings can come up from being given gentle feedback by adults. Some may be extremely shy and not say if they need to use the restroom, while others have their own YouTube channels. And they’re all in the same room!
This requires a different set of strategies than what works for older children. Our 5.5 hour Grades K-2 Behavior Management training includes specific behavior examples and targeted techniques for behaviors unique to the early elementary population.
Teachers will learn…
- How to set up your classroom to prevent common distractions
- Why you will never engage in a student-teacher power struggle, and what to do instead
- How to quickly diffuse, de-escalate, and redirect common disruptive behaviors
- How to create and adjust classroom expectations based on each setting throughout the school day
- How to model consistency, safety, and positivity as the trusted adult in your classroom
- And so much more!
