Co-founder and Content Creator, Liz Capone

Before PD Ninja, Liz Capone, M.S. was a Special Education teacher for 21 years. She has taught every grade level, from pre-K to 12, across self-contained, resource, inclusion, virtual, ESY, PHP, RTC, and hospital settings in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Liz earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Johns Hopkins University. After teaching for several years, she became an in-house expert witness and chief advocate at an education law firm serving children in foster care in DC. She testified in over 60 prevailing due process hearings and presented in DC Superior Court over 200 times in this role.
After having a daughter (and co-founder), she returned to teaching for several more years. She has taught a graduate course at George Washington University on literacy. Liz has also served as an expert witness nationally in family law cases involving children with special needs. She has given a CLE training at the Bar Association of Montgomery County on the intersection of Special Education and family law.
In her free time, she watches too many true crime shows.

I’m an artist with a background in edtech consulting. For years, I advised early stage education startups on creative direction, marketing, sales optimization, web design, video production, and long-term strategic planning. After spending so much time working with other businesses, I realized I’d have much more fun running my own!
